What is Family Constellation?
Systemic or Family Constellation is a therapeutic, practical and philosophical path applied to life. It was discovered and developed by Bert Hellinger, a German pedagogue, psychotherapist, former priest and philosopher, involving phenomenology.
Hellinger developed the Family Constellation (Familienstellen) from empirical observations, based on various forms of family psychotherapy, on patterns of behavior that are repeated in families over generations. Through group experiences, he discovered the existence of a collective consciousness and memory that acts in families and aims at the perpetuation of the group. This memory is "governed" by three laws that act in a family system, also called Orders of Love.
Through the experience of a Family Constellation, it is possible to bring out the hidden dynamics of the family, thus identifying the laws that have been transgressed. The work allows the participant to bring to consciousness a "new vision" of the issue and a new path for the resolution of imprisonment and suffering. This work is not linked to any religion, even though it is based on spirituality and energy.
What is the purpose of the Family Constellation?
During a Family Constellation people participating in a workshop group, represent family members or people linked to the client (or to a company or any other system) participants follow spontaneous movements that unveil entanglements such that the client may view a new image of the issue. The person sees the next step he/she should take to help himself/herself heal and break repetitive patterns of disease, promote conflict solutions, find peace, prosperity, and harmony in their relationships.
How does a Family Constellation work?
When experiencing a family constellation with a group of people, the facilitator will have the workshop participants represent various family members. The representatives may or may not be known to the client.
The client will experience a "reproduction" of his /hers family system, where the workshop participants will represent his/hers relatives. The facilitator and the client will be able to visualize the issues from a broader point of view, refining the process until they identify a problem such as: an unresolved issue within the family or someone out of sync from the family’s hierarchy (for example, a daughter playing the role of the mother).
The role of the Family Constellation is, in this context, to seek balance in the relations of exchanges, respecting the roles of hierarchy of each person within their group, including all family members and always without judgment.

What happens after a Family Constellation?
After and even during a session, the client may feel very tired, as we will be working at very different levels of consciousness from which we live on a daily basis.
During the Family Constellation, we experience a range of very deep memories and consciousnesses, which are part of a secular memory, from which we have the opportunity to access information and images through the sensations in our body and that of the representatives. Therefore the body may feel tired and exhausted. After a session it is possible to have a headache, flu symptoms, insomnia, tiredness, all of which is temporary. Usually, despite exhaustion, there is a sense of relief and lightness.
Life should go as normal, without worrying about fixing a particular issue. The new image that appeared during the Constellation, will be present for a while and at some moment in life, this new image, which was previously unknown and not conscious, will require the client to take a next step and act on his own behalf.
What questions can be addressed in the Family Constellation?
Any essential topic of life or death, such as:

Thanks to the participation of representative as members of a family in the Family Constellation, the client can become aware of:

Who is Bert Hellinger?
Bert Hellinger was born in Germany on December 16, 1925 and died on 19 September 2019. Hellinger studied philosophy, theology, and education. He worked for 16 years as a missionary for a Catholic order among the Zulus in South Africa. There, he became intensely involved with the influence of group dynamics.
Later he became a psychoanalyst and trained in Primary Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Ericksonian Hypnotherapy and Neurolinguistic Programming. Over the years he developed his own method: the Family Constellation (Familienstellen). Today it is known worldwide and is used in several areas, such as psychotherapy, organizational and management consulting, education, medicine, justice, life, educational counseling and life assistance in the broadest sense. It's a training for life.
Bert Hellinger researched incessantly, coming across new insights and discoveries obtained during seminars, conversations, meditations, and many other life situations. These discoveries were constantly incorporated into his work, until it became clear that Hellinger's "Original Family Constellation" had grown beyond this level. Rather than a rigid technique that could be learned and claimed to help, a posture of a very special kind emerged. A posture of "consenting to what it is - exactly as it is". Through this approach, the scope and effectiveness of the Original Hellinger® Family Constellation have been and continues to be expanded and improved. In the meantime, the Original Hellinger® Family Constellation is now being used by various courts and health care systems.
Bert Hellinger wrote more than 110 books that have been translated into 38 languages.

Is there a minimum age to attend a Family Constellation?
There's no minimum age! Minors under 18 years old must be accompanied by their parents or guardians.
How do I schedule a session to address my issue?
The recommendation would be to seek a doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, lawyer, etc. instead of a Family Constellation, because it deals with group work, where everyone participates in all the issues of those present. There is no rigid individual question, in which a single problem will be evidenced, diagnosed, elaborated to then follow a protocol of a possible solution. There is no guarantee of "repair", such as when taking a car to the mechanic.
In a Family Constellation, everyone is exposed to a question that arises, through group dynamics, or a client volunteers to share what bothers him, with the symptoms that appear in life, whether it is a health matter, mental health, or regarding a path in life, success, failure, repetitions of patterns, fatalities. Any symptom, any crisis that someone has and wants to share with the group, will be seen by the group, addressed as a group. The Constellation is conducted such that all participants will see something in common, by which issues become similar and universal. It's a phenomenon! A phenomenological path of knowledge, in which one can, in a different way from those already known, access solutions, view a new image of what might be the problem.
Who constelates should pay more than a representative or observer?
This approach has been practiced for some time, to attract people to the Family Constellation because it is a new science. Currently it is going into disuse, so to speak, because EVERYONE IS A PARTICIPANT in a Family Constellation. The work does not focus on a single person, the one who formulates an issue or question. A constellation is a process, a path that is traveled as a group, in which everyone is deeply involved.
How are the sessions in times of COVID-19?
Family Constellation is held in-person, respecting all health protocols:
the use of mask, face shield, shoe cover
ventilated and well-sanitized environment
Is it possible to participate in Patricia Belda's workshop if I am not able to pay the discounted or full price?
Everyone is welcome to the workshops and to partake from the work, regardless of their financial situation or objective. Participants may address personal issues, learn as a colleague, or simply just to observe as a first time participant.
Whoever is unable to pay the full amount should:
take advantage of the early bird discount (US$120) or
register by making a donation that suits the client’s budget
How many sessions do I need to attend?
The recommended interval between sessions is three months to one year before returning for new experiences. When you see something meaningful in a Family Constellation, peripheral issues are resolved. Unlike traditional therapies, there are no weekly sessions.
What is a Family Constellation Workshop?
Our "workshops" are events where Family Constellations takes place. Every participant "constellates" in a workshop, either by bringing an individual question to the group, by participating in group dynamics, or by being a representative in the experiences, or simply by observing - everyone benefits as long they are fully present.
A Family Constellation Workshop is an opportunity to participate in practical and face-to-face group experiences. It is not a course or training session, which requires years of practical and theoretical learning and does not end by earning some certificates. Depending on the circumstances, but not necessarily, the facilitator may elaborate on some of the theories of what is a Family Constellation. Such theories are introduced occasionally to help broaden individual awareness about life and support the personal growth of participants.
A Family Constellation Intensive is the same as a workshop other than it takes place over two day period.
